Local Support Groups
People often join a local group to establish contact with others whose lives are affected by Neurofibromatosis, and to share their own experiences. Local groups can help to overcome the feelings of isolation often experienced by people with Neurofibromatosis and their families.
What does a local group do?
Local groups can:
-
Raise awareness of Neurofibromatosis and the Neurofibromatosis Association locally.
-
Share information and exchanging ideas at meetings.
-
Develop mutual support between members (eg via a group contact list to enable members to support each other between meetings).
-
Organise social activities.
-
Press for better local services for people with Neurofibromatosis (campaigning).
-
Fundraise
