On 17th May 2017, we celebrate World NF Awareness Day with the aim to raise awareness of a genetic condition of which many people are unaware, despite it being more common than Huntington’s Disease, Cystic Fibrosis and Muscular Dystrophy combined.
What is NF?
Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic condition that affects 2.5 million people worldwide.
It causes tumours to grow in the nerve tissue throughout the body and as of yet, there is no cure.
Our aim at The Neuro Foundation is to help improve the lives of people living with NF in the UK.
